Congratulations to our wonderful Year 11 students at George Spencer Academy on their excellent achievements in this year’s GCSE and Level 2 Vocational qualifications. We are extremely proud of the motivation and dedication they have shown to their studies that have led to them being ready for the next stage of their educational journey.
The determination and aspirational nature of our students truly epitomise the core values and Ethos of Excellence of our Academy. The Year 11 cohort have been awarded an excellent set of results that shows a continued improvement on previous years outcomes. This year our results remain well above national averages, we are proud to be celebrating 77% of the cohort achieving a grade 4 or above in both English and maths and a further 57% of students achieving a grade 5 or above in both English and maths combined. In addition to these headline measures the students have achieved remarkable outcomes in all subjects, with 20 subjects achieving positive progress scores as a result.
There are so many students who have achieved highly, with countless individual success stories. As well as embarking on apprenticeships and moving on to other FE establishments, we are delighted that a vast number of our year 11 cohort have chosen to continue to be an integral part of our community and enrolled into our outstanding sixth form.
Nosa who gained 10 grades, all above grade 7 commented “I am so pleased with my results, I can’t believe I got the grades I got”
Luke, who is staying on to study A levels in Music, English Literature and Sociology said “I am over the moon at my results, absolutely ecstatic in fact and I can’t wait to get started in 6th Form”
Helen Corbett, Principal stated, “Our students are truly excellent. We are extremely pleased that their academic outcomes reflect the amazing young people we know them to be. Their results will give them a fantastic start to the next stage of their education – well done Year 11”.
