GCSE Results Day 2026

At George Spencer Academy, we are delighted to be celebrating the incredible achievements of our Year 11 students today as they receive their GCSE and level 2 vocational results. The outcomes reflect just how hard this group of fantastic individuals have worked throughout their 2 years of study and in particular, in the build up to the final examinations.

This year’s results demonstrate strong academic performance across a wide range of subjects, with many students achieving top grades and out performing their personal targets. The success is testament not only to the students’ commitment but also to their engagement with the guidance and support offered by their teachers and support staff alongside their continuous striving for excellence.

This year our results continue to remain well above national averages, and we are proud to be celebrating 77% of the cohort achieving a grade 4 or above in both English and maths and a further 60% of students achieving a grade 5 or above in both English and maths combined. In addition to these nationally recognised headline measures, the students have achieved remarkable outcomes in a wide range of optional subjects, and it was wonderful to see so many happy faces as they opened their envelopes.

There are so many students who have achieved highly, with many individual success stories. As well as embarking on apprenticeships and moving on to other FE establishments, we are delighted that a vast number of our year 11 cohort have chosen to continue to be an integral part of our community and have enrolled into our sixth form.

The Principal, Mrs Corbett said, “We always knew this cohort was special, from their relentless drive to be the best they can be, to their positivity and inclusive team ethic within the year group”. She added, “These amazing people have now gained some of the best results in the school’s history and will go on to great things. They deserve every success, well done year 11”
